In 2014 Japan and Switzerland are clelebrating the 150th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. Several events and conferences will take place to further strengthen the ties between the two countries. Within this context Kyoto University, the University of Zurich, EPFL and ETH Zurich are organising a multi-discipline symposium to renew their institutional connections and forster joint research activities. The symposium will bring together top scientists from all four participating institutions in different parallel sessions and present the institutions to interested participants from Japan and Switzerland.
