If you are from the countries listed on the visa exemption list, you don’t need a visa for a short-term stay unless you are making profit from a company registered in Japan or organization. Visa Exemption List

Visa applications may not be submitted earlier than 3 months prior to your arrival date in Japan, since the validity of a short-term stay visa is 3 months.
