[ Story ]
A dowdy antique dealer Norio finds a valuable tea cup of the most famous Japanese tea master Sen no Rikyu* from the 16th century when searching inside a storehouse of a rich family. Norio deceives the homeowner Sasuke to get it for almost nothing, but it turns out that Sasuke is a mere house-sitter and the teacup is made by Sasuke himself.  When Norio learns that Sasuke used to be a hopeful potter derailed by an antique authenticator Norio himself has a painful history against, the two decide to make the gamble of a lifetime against the authenticator they both have a score to settle with.  Involving their wives and children, this act of fraud goes quite unexpectedly.

*Sen no Rikyu
Sen no Rikyu, also known as Rikyu, is considered the most famous tea master who had established the Japanese way of the tea ceremony, chanoyu. He emphasized the simplicity of a tea ceremony and also is said to have worked as a fixer in Sengoku period in the 16th century. Though he ended up killing himself ordered by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who was a general at that time, his way of the tea ceremony still fascinates people today.

[ Story ]
Set in the small town of Nagashima, Kagoshima prefecture in southern Japan. Yuichi Hino farms yellowtail fish, a family business, for his livelihood. He lives with his wife Satsuki, his mother Mie and a 7-year-old son Towa. But Towa is not their own son. He came to live with them when he was one-years old as a foster child, and now Yuichi and Satsuki want to formally adopt him. They meet Yoshida at the child consultation center as they embark on the special adoption procedures with the Family Court, and find out how Towa was taken into care. They are shocked when they learn the name of Towa’s biological mother: Akane Sato, exactly the same as that of the woman who came to the island a few years ago and has since been working at the diner. The tensions between foster parents and biological mother, the presence of residents on the island and the children growing up there are depicted in a human drama.
