Latest Visa Information

To apply for a visa, please prepare the required documents based on the visa type appropriate to your purpose of visit listed below, and make an appointment to visit the Embassy of Japan in Switzerland in Bern or the Consulate office in Geneva to submit your application.
The visitor himself/herself must come to the Embassy or the Consulate office for both visa application and visa receipt.
All the visits to the Embassy and the Consulate office are made by appointment only.
Please note that due to the impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the visa approval procedure may take longer than usual. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

1 Visa Application with a Certificate for Completion of Registration to the ERFS system

From March 1st, foreign nationals can apply for visas for any purposes  (short-term stays such as business or employment, long-term stays, etc.) other than tourism under the control of those who are responsible for their stay (herein after referred to as "acceptance manager").

An "acceptance manager" needs to resister information of the applicant online to the "Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS)".
A "Certificate for Completion of Registration to the ERFS system" will be issued after the online application.

Please come to the Embassy of Japan in Switzerland in Bern or the Consulate office in Geneva with this certificate and other application documents.
